The Bipolar Expedition
The Bipolar expedition is an exciting adventure to the poles of the earth that is aimed at raising money for research into Bipolar Disorder.Join THE BIPOLAR EXPEDITION in a trek of the last degree of latitude to both the North and South Poles or take part in a cruise to the Antarctia and Arctic Circle

More humans have been into space than have trekked to the North Pole. More people have scaled the summit of Mount Everest than have reached the South Pole from the Antarctic coast.

You can follow in the footsteps of intrepid adventurers like Shackleton and Scott – join THE BIPOLAR EXPEDITION as they set out to trek the last degree of latitude to both the North and South Poles. You have the chance to join a privileged few who will have the world literally spinning below their feet. We invite you to share the experience of a lifetime as we challenge the limits of human capability.

An expedition team led by extremely experienced guides, and consisting of people with Bipolar Disorder, psychiatrists and community members, will embark on two separate treks, approximately 3 weeks each – one to the South Pole in November 2009 and one to the North Pole in April 2010.

This entire journey will be made into a documentary to raise awareness for Bipolar Disorder. Participants need to be aware that this is an integral part of our mission - to raise public awareness about the disorder.

This is an experience of a lifetime, in which this incredible journey allows you to experience first-hand some of the challenges and insights that faced early explorers, as you travel from 89 degrees south to the South Pole, and 89 degrees north to the North Pole.

You do not need previous experience or extreme fitness, however the expedition offers a major challenge due to the harshness of its climate and its extremely remote location. What you do need is a personal commitment of achieving the goal of THE BIPOLAR EXPEDITION.

Come with us, on our journey of Understanding the Extremes.
