Balance NZ Bipolar & Depression Network is a charitable trust that makes a difference in the lives of those affected by mood disorders. Balance NZ makes a difference by:

• Building and maintaining a network of support groups for people who have experienced bipolar disorder and depression
• Educating people who have experienced bipolar disorder and depression about their condition and helping them to develop personalised Wellness Recovery Action Plan
• Training peers (tangata whai ora) in support skills with an emphasis on recovery principles
• Advocating at a national level for more effective services and support for people who have experienced bipolar disorder or depression
• Active collaboration with other organisations and initiatives nationally and internationally
• Conducting and contributing to ongoing research and awareness into bipolar disorder and depression
• Providing research information to all those affected by mood disorder in New Zealand
